Raytheon supports a Protégé to earn ISO-9001 certification

FALLS CHURCH, Va., (Nov. 2006) - Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) successfully supported a Protégé in attaining its ISO-9001 certification under the four-year sponsorship of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency Mentor-Protégé program.
Raytheon Intelligence and Information Systems (IIS) assisted MIRATEK Corporation, a small business in El Paso, Texas, in enhancing its technical and business capabilities and increasing its role as a government subcontractor and supplier. Raytheon provided assistance to MIRATEK to enhance growth, quality of services and administrative infrastructure.
"Through the Mentor-Protégé program MIRATEK has experienced an increased visibility by the intelligence community which has resulted in several contract awards," said IIS President Michael D. Keebaugh. "This program is very valuable to the Department of Defense and to Raytheon. We are pleased with MIRATEK's success and we look forward to mentoring more businesses."
Through the Mentor Protégé program, Raytheon partnered with a
Minority Institution, the University of Texas at El Paso, who provided expert training to MIRATEK. In 2004, Raytheon IIS and MIRATEK were named winners of the Department of Defense's (DoD) prestigious Nunn-Perry Award for outstanding performance on the Mentor-Protégé program.
