Mr. Joe Diaz, founder (CEO) and President of MIRATEK holds a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA degree from the University of North Texas. His extensive technical expertise was developed over a multi-year career with internationally recognized companies (Exxon, IBM, General Dynamics and EG&G) in roles involving program development/administration, problem-solving/data analysis, staff training/supervision, field research and technical reporting program oversight, and both internal and external liaison responsibilities at the executive level. In all aspects of product development, demonstrated superior knowledge of technology, data operations, and marketing of commercial, military, and R & D programs.

Mr. Diaz is an entrepreneur who has implemented and followed a strategic business model to grow the firm successfully. He attributes the firm's success to strict project management/project controls on all technical tasks, a positive attitude, and simply perseverance and hard work.

Mr. Diaz has surrounded himself with a superior technical staff made up of professionals/technicians from government, industry and academia. The MIRATEK staff is made up of technical personnel with numerous professional certifications/affiliations.

Finally, the progressive entreprenurial spirit for MIRATEK is set to follow a geographical diversification strategy. The firm has performed successfully with local, New Mexico and International clients in Mexico. The firm is performing and pursuing further contract support expansion to markets in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Dallas, San Antonio, Texas and Washington D.C.

MIRATEK was selected as the Fort Bliss SBA Prime Contractor of the Year (2000). Also, MIRATEK earned the U.S. Small Business Administration's "Administrator Award of Excellence (2000 and 2004)". In addition, MIRATEK was listed in the INC Magazine list of fastest growing inner city firms for 2001, 2002 and 2003, 2004.

MIRATEK also received the HENAAC Entrepreneur of the Year Award for 2002 and was recently named in the Hispanic Business 500 for 2004 (#339 of 500). Recently, Mr. Diaz was selected as the TAMACC (Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce) Businessman of the Year 2004.
